Equine Spinal Freedom Mobilisation (3 hours)
This CPD training is designed for Equine Manual Therapists seeking to enhance their skill set. Participants will acquire advanced palpation skills for accurately assessing and identifying musculoskeletal issues in horses. Subsequently, they will learn mobilisation techniques tailored to both the axial (central) and appendicular (limbs) skeleton of horses.
The mobilisation techniques shared in this programme serve dual purposes: they enhance joint fluidity in targeted areas while eliciting a reflex response in the spinal cord, leading to the relaxation of muscles surrounding bones and joints. This multifaceted approach not only reduces tension but also enhances range of motion and overall mobility.
It's important to note that the skills taught in this programme comprise of “thrusts” with a focus on the alignment and function of the musculoskeletal system when therapists are met with tissue that is stuck.
Add another great dimension to your repertoire of skills.
"I attended the course in 2022 when I came to the UK from Asia and found it a great experience for an equine massage therapist as I wanted to expand my skill set. I now have another great tool to use alongside my massage work. I also attended the online advanced myofascial release and craniosacral course that is available. I didn’t originally train with Equine Massage Academy because of the distance, but I now wish I had because their courses are the best by far, and I feel more confident as a massage therapist.”

Equine Tension Point Release (TPR) (1 hour)
Discover the healing power of gentle touch as I did after years of witnessing the challenges that many horses face in tolerating traditional forms of human touch. I embarked on a journey to create a therapy that would cater to their emotional and physical needs. Equine Tension Point Release, or TPR for short, is the result of my extensive research and hands-on experience working with elite competing horses across the globe.
TPR stands out as a distinct and innovative approach developed by me, Angela Hall, to equine therapy. Unlike trigger point therapy and similar modalities, TPR focuses on specific tension points within a horse's body, typically found at key junctions, muscle groups, and bone landmarks. This unique approach addresses both physical discomfort and emotional challenges that horses encounter in their daily lives. An excellent modality for horses that consume tension and are shut off, it works extremely well with racehorses among others.
No need for anatomy and physiology knowledge! With TPR, simply follow the 15 key points I’ve discovered, and I provide you with essential pointers in the training manual to address the reasons behind the horse's tension. It's that simple – TPR is accessible to everyone, ensuring every horse gets the care they deserve.
Equine Rocking Therapy (1 hour)
Are you seeking a gentle and effective approach to enhance a horse's comfort and overall well-being that is based on the behaviour of rocking and swaying seen in animals and people?
Why Choose Rocking Therapy?
In my years of experimenting with equine manual therapy, I've discovered that horses respond best to a subtle approach. Less is always more because they are extremely sensitive animals and my rocking therapy embraces this philosophy by utilising gentle, soothing techniques at specific locations on the horse’s body for maximum benefit.
Horses naturally rock or sway themselves without assistance, a behaviour influenced by various physiological and psychological factors. Our bite size course delves into these reasons, providing an understanding of the benefits behind these natural movements:
Just as people rock back and forth to feel calm (especially babies), horses use these motions very subtly to soothe themselves, particularly in stressful or anxious situations.
Rocking or swaying can help alleviate discomfort from ailments such as internal discomfort, arthritis, or injuries by shifting weight and reducing pressure on affected areas.
Discover how the repetitive motion of rocking or swaying stimulates a horse's senses, especially in environments with limited sensory input or horses with neurological conditions.
Follow my video demonstration showing gentle, subtle therapy techniques designed to work with the horse's natural movements, developed over years of hands-on practice and experimentation.
Exploring Equine Neurology: With Practical Assessments (1 hour)
Who is the Course For?
This course caters to all equestrians, including horse owners and professionals. Neurological issues in horses are unfortunately very common and often go overlooked which can lead to numerous health implications for horses.
What Will You Learn?
We focus specifically on the equine nervous system and common disorders. How to evaluate neurological soundness in a horse through our practical 10-Point Dynamic Assessment Checklist, supplemented with a video assessment so you know exactly what to do if you suspect something isn’t right with a horse.
Importantly, we explore how horses perceive pain, particularly chronic or persistent pain, the many causes of this pain and methods to prevent neurological issues from arising in the first place. We also provide insights into managing these issues if they do occur and treatment options.
”Angela visited my horse a few years ago and successfully addressed a neurological issue that caused severe reactions to bright light, especially sunlight. Her expertise and dedication made a significant difference, and I am incredibly grateful for her help. I am delighted that she has now created this course.”
